Founder Michael Gordon comes from a family that immigrated from Italy in the 1960s and built a dairy and frozen dessert business serving Boston’s North End restaurants — producing the famous "Russo's Spumoni" and Italian ice long before “artisan” was a marketing term. That business evolved into retail, and food service became a family standard built on pride, quality, and reputation.

Today, alongside his son Joseph — a fourth-generation food entrepreneur — Modern Market Vending combines generational hospitality roots with advanced smart vending technology to deliver a premium amenity experience.
